It was a fortuitous day when founders, Brad Garner and Michael Geoghegan, first met in 1981. Brad was already a distinguished international flute soloist and Mike, an accomplished engineer and machinist. But despite their diverse backgrounds, they found that they shared a common bond: to explore new ways of advancing the traditional headjoint and, in so doing, take the ideas of Boehm and Cooper to revolutionary and exciting new heights.
After years of research and experimentation, the first Garner headjoint was unveiled in 2009. Today, Garner Headjoints are being played by musicians and enjoyed by audiences all around the world. We like to think that Theobold Boehm and Albert Cooper would both be very pleased.
