Amazonia for Flute and Piano by Valerie Coleman

Amazonia is a commemoration poem of what is considered to be the “lungs of the earth”. The poem describes its natural beauty that progressively becomes destroyed, as the dark aspects of human nature intrude upon vitality. As the fires in the Amazon rainforest have decimated thousands of acres, we must remember the beauty of what once was.
